Step is filling all the nail holes created from the actual installation of the trim. As you can see here there’s A LOT of nail holes. We do a first round fill with a wood filler. Once that is dry we sand it down flush with the trim. The initial fill tends to sink or shrink most of the time so we do a second lighter pass with Bondo spotting and glazing putty over every nail hole to be 100% sure every nail hole is filled to its max potential.
