๐ Now that we've cleared that up... I stepped outside tonight hoping to catch a glimpse of the moon, but it's cloudy and overcast. My friend Tessa wrote me, and it reminded me to slow down and enjoy the evening anyway. I love my Galaxy phone. It has that neat feature where you zoom all the way in, line the moon up inside the little box, then the box inside the box, and hold really still. That's how I get those close-up moon pictures when the sky cooperates. Tonight, though, the clouds seem to have other plans. There are cats everywhere out here. One is sitting on the roof right.
Now. ๐ It's a regular cat house around here. I just gave Skeeter some extra lovings and pettings. We went to Publix earlier, and I picked up those deli peanut butter cookies the dogs love so much. Yes, they are spoiled, and no, I have absolutely no intention of changing that. ๐พโค๏ธ As I walk around the yard, I have to watch my step because of the holes and the rain we've been getting lately. But standing out here, listening to the crickets chirp and watching the evening settle in, I'm reminded of something important. There are plenty of times when I complain, worry, or get frustrated with the world.
But tonight I'm feeling grateful. Grateful for my cats and dogs. Grateful for my husband, Steve. Grateful for a nice dinner. Grateful for good friends I love. Grateful for a little space to breathe, listen to the night sounds, and simply be here now. So even if the moon stays hidden behind the clouds tonight, that's okay. Sometimes the beauty is in the waiting. I hope everybody has a lovely evening. I'm going to sit out here a little longer and see if the clouds decide to move along. If not, I'll enjoy the crickets, the cats, and the company of the dogs. Sending my love to all of you.
